BBDU Chancellor Alka Das Gupta Meets UP Governor Anandiben Patel to Discuss ‘One Earth, One Health’ Yoga Month

Lucknow — In a significant gesture of academic and social engagement, Alka Das Gupta, Chancellor of Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU), met with Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel at the Raj Bhavan.

The meeting was held to brief the Governor about the ongoing Yoga Month being observed by BBDU in alignment with the Government of India’s theme — “One Earth, One Health”. This initiative focuses on promoting holistic health, environmental balance, and sustainable living through yoga and wellness programs.

During the meeting, Chancellor Alka Das Gupta presented a floral bouquet and a curated photo compilation of various activities organized under the BBDU Yoga Month initiative. These included community yoga sessions, wellness workshops, and student engagement drives that highlight the university’s commitment to health, sustainability, and social responsibility.

Impressed by media reports and visual documentation of BBDU’s efforts, Governor Anandiben Patel commended the Chancellor for her leadership and contribution to spreading the message of wellness and ecological harmony. She lauded the university’s proactive role in furthering the objectives of the national campaign.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. S.C. Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor of BBDU, and Dr. S.M.K. Rizvi, Dean of Student Welfare and Chief Proctor, who briefed the Governor on the scope and impact of the Yoga Month programs within and beyond the campus.

The interaction marked a reaffirmation of BBDU’s dedication to promoting health-centric education and contributing meaningfully to state and national-level wellness initiatives.
